Five worlds for a single fragrance, held on one unbroken timeline. The forest and the glacier are two stops on the same continuous journey rather than five separate pages, so a change of world is something the visitor scrolls through instead of something they navigate to.
Five fragrances is normally five pages, or one page with five cards and a transition between them. This build spent most of its life as exactly that, and the log names why it failed: “Five cards with effects between them is a slideshow.” A slideshow tells the visitor the five things are separate, which for a collection is the one thing they must not believe.
So the continuity had to be the product rather than an effect laid over the seams. The site is one film of ten chained segments, scrubbed by scroll, with the fifth returning to the first. Every clip was generated with its first and last frame locked to the same still, so each join is the same file twice — guaranteed by construction, not hidden under a dissolve that only holds at the speed it was authored for.
A visitor scrolls through a change of world instead of navigating to one, and there is no end of the page to bounce off. A damped spring between scroll and frame lets the image settle rather than snap, and as it slows it resolves onto a single frame — so what you look at when you stop is one clean image, not two ghosted together. Four of the five passages meet the crossing law we wrote for them. The fifth is an honest travelling shot, and we say so.
