A villa approached by sea. The whole of it is cut as one continuous scroll-scrubbed film — the daylight cliff approach and the dark threshold corridor belong to the same unbroken shot, scrubbed by the visitor's own scroll rather than divided into pages.
Property marketing defaults to a gallery: a stack of still plates, or video that plays whether or not anyone is watching. A first-time viewer shown this build cold said it read as “pictures one after another” — the whole failure in five words. A house on a cliff is not a catalogue. It is an approach, and an approach is something you make, not something played at you.
Every moving background is a scroll-scrubbed frame sequence drawn to a canvas. The camera walks forward as you scroll, holds when you stop, and reverses when you go back. Nothing autoplays, so there is nothing to pause. Frames load only within reach of the viewport and are released behind you — one decoded frame is about four megabytes, and five loaded scenes would cost over a gigabyte of memory.
The visitor sets the pace of their own arrival, so dwelling is possible and the piece is built to reward it. It ships as flat static files with no server, six runtime dependencies, and a build that fails outright if the JavaScript passes 205 kB. What is for sale is not the look — it is that the look is held to a budget somebody actually checks.
